Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray Tech) – Full-Time

Job Summary
The Full-Time X-Ray Technologist will perform high-quality diagnostic radiologic procedures within a premier outpatient orthopedic surgery and recovery environment. Working closely with orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, and physical therapists, the incumbent will capture precise musculoskeletal imagery essential for pre-operative planning, post-operative tracking, and general orthopedic evaluations. This role requires an efficient, patient-centered professional who thrives in a collaborative, high-volume environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Diagnostic Imaging Execution: Perform high-quality digital X-ray exams focusing heavily on musculoskeletal structures, including specialized orthopedic views, weight-bearing studies, and post-operative imaging.
- Surgical Support (C-Arm): Operate fluoroscopic equipment (C-Arm) efficiently within the outpatient surgical suites to provide real-time imaging support during orthopedic procedures as required.
- Radiation Safety: Adhere strictly to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles, utilizing appropriate shielding, collimation, and exposure factors to ensure maximum safety for patients, staff, and self.
- Patient Care & Preparation: Screen patients for pregnancy or other contraindications, clearly explain imaging procedures, and safely position patients with acute orthopedic injuries or post-surgical limitations.
- Technical Workflow Management: Review and verify physician orders, manage digital imaging files within the PACS/EHR network, and maintain equipment cleanliness and quality control logs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Licensure & Certifications:
- Active credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists—ARRT(R).
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) licensure issued by the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) / Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
- Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an X-Ray Technologist, with a strong preference for dedicated experience in an outpatient orthopedic or sports medicine setting.
- Proficiency operating dynamic imaging equipment and C-Arms is highly desirable.
- Skills & Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of orthopedic anatomy and specialized positioning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients experiencing pain or limited mobility.
